I continue to work in education because I found my WHY. Knowing I make a difference in an entire school community on a daily basis from being a mentor, a father figure, and a role model and just someone that can be trusted is very important to me. Black and Brown children need to see me, they need to see that there are a plethora of opportunities outside of the sports and entertainment industry. Education is so much more than teaching, it is providing a way and stepping up to the plate and being all those things your students need to be successful in the classroom.
Thats WHY I do what I do, day in and day out.
After 16 years of officiating college football; I have thrown my last flag and tooted my last whistle. This morning I submitted my resignation letter to the Supervisor of Officials for The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association [CIAA]. I’m thankful for everything that officiating has taught me, the places it has taken me and above all the people it has put in my path. I will miss it tremendously but it is time to turn the page and begin the next chapter of my life. “See you on the Goal Line”
I'm more than my title will ever be.
